2009 Season On Hold!

It is with a heavy heart that I update the website today, informing you that the 2009 Season has been put on hold indefinately.

Due to some unforeseen circumstances, and personal reasons, I will not be able to commit myself to the level that is demanded to run a succsessful season, and because of these reasons I have put the 2009 Season on hold.

What this means, is that as of today (Monday, April 6 2009) The RHL will not play a full 2009 Season as it has in the past, on a 10 game regular season plus playoffs format. Instead, the Henry Cup Championship will be decided in a round robin tournament format yet to be determined over a weekend during the early summer months. This date is also to be determined.

I will consider offers to take over running the league in favour of running a 2-3 day tournament. If there is someone out there interested in running a full league this summer, please contact me asap and we can talk about getting the league up and running. However, if I do not hear from anyone by April 15 2009, the full season will be cancelled, with the intention of running the tournament in its place.

The concept being thrown around is the same 3 on 3 team format, playing a 3-4 game round robin (Friday-Saturday or Just Saturday) with and A through D championship round held on a Sunday.

If you have tried to contact me prior to today via email, I did not receive it as there were technical issues with the site and email since March 15 2009, and I apologize for the lack in response. The site and email is now up and running at 100% functionality. I will keep updating the site with photos from last season, updated stats and awards information etc. within the next few weeks.

If you have any questions, suggestions or comments about this tournament format, please contact me at matt@rhlroadhockey.com
